My husband Dan and I have been in ministry together since 1987. We have served churches in Abilene, TX, Norman, OK, and Amarillo, TX and we have lived in the DFW area for the past 15 years where he works for a missions organization and I work as a school counselor and life coach. My husband Dan and I have been in ministry together since 1987. We have served churches in Abilene, TX, Norman, OK, and Amarillo, TX and we have lived in the DFW area for the past 15 years where he works for a missions organization and I work as a school counselor and life coach. I am currently in my 16th year as an educator and 36th year as a mom.
As a ministry couple, we've provided pre-martial counseling for young couples wanting to establish a strong foundation for their marriages before they began and marriage counseling for couples who've hit a bump in the road and needed spiritual guidance and mentoring to mend broken hearts and broken trust.
We have walked with individuals through the unfathomable loss and grief of losing a child, spouse, or parent. And, we have coached and supported spouses who were trying to navigate divorce and shared custody of children. We've also walked alongside countless people on spiritual journeys in pursuit of deeper faith.
As a teacher, counselor, mom, and minister's wife, I routinely have the privilege of mentoring and counseling women through all stages of their children's development (from early childhood to adulthood). I have helped women set boundaries and build healthy, fulfilling relationships with adult children and in-laws and I've helped women managing the stress of caring for aging parents.
I have coached women through all major life transitions, identity crises, spiritual awakenings, divorce recovery, and the exhaustion of balancing career, family, and personal purpose.
Personal:
I have been married to the same man for over 38 years. We often jokingly say that we have had three marriages - all to the same person! We say this because through the years, we have grown and changed as individuals and we are not the same people or married to the same person we were when we first married. And, now that we are empty neste
I have been married to the same man for over 38 years. We often jokingly say that we have had three marriages - all to the same person! We say this because through the years, we have grown and changed as individuals and we are not the same people or married to the same person we were when we first married. And, now that we are empty nesters and grand-parents, we are not the same people we were when we had young children or teens at home. We believe that a healthy marriage allows space for each partner to grow, change, and evolve over the course of a lifetime.
Dan and I have three grown children and two (soon to be three!) precious grandchildren. Our children are all married and spread out across the country. We relish any time that we get to have all three of our kids, their spouses, and our grandkids in the same place at the same time! But we also enjoy sharing our now empty nest with our 10 year old Mini Schnauzer, Scout.
During our years of pastoring churches, I taught or counseled full-time in public schools, taught Sunday school, and ran our church's summer VBS program.
As a Certified Christian Life Coach with a background in education , counseling, and ministry and as a wife and mom of three grown children, I understand the obstacles to and complexities of personal growth that women face during the changing seasons of life and the identity crises that come with those transitions. Life can be hard, and at times, heartbreaking,
I was blessed to have children at home for 32 years (yes - that's right! My oldest and youngest are 13 years apart in age). I have attempted balancing work, family, and a life in full-time ministry, living far from family and feeling isolated and alone as a wife and mother, parenting during those sometimes troublesome toddler, tween, and teen years, navigating relation-ships with teens and now adult children, in-laws, and coworkers. I've experienced the true "emptiness" of an empty nest, the loss of identity that comes when children leave home. And, I've traveled the road to rediscovery of myself and my purpose on the other side of each of those life transitions. Now, I am passionate about helping other women do the same!

As a Certified Christian Life Coach, I work with women to evaluate their current level of satisfaction across four sectors of life: 1) their relationships (with spouses, children, in-laws, co-workers, friends, and parents);
2) their spiritual lives;
3) their physical health; and 4) their mental health. Next we identify specific areas in w

3) their physical health; and 4) their mental health. Next we identify specific areas in which the client feels stuck or overwhelmed, or areas in which they would like to grow or make changes. Finally, we create a personalized plan that supports the client in making those changes and that will lead to more peace, gratitude, and joy!

I utilize a blend of coaching techniques, including cognitive-behavioral strategies, solution-focused strategies, goal-setting and progress monitoring, organizational and educational tools. And, scripture is integrated into my coaching that informs us on how God sees us, who He says we are, and who He created us to be. This holistic approach ensures all areas of a woman's life are addressed.
